INTERNATIONAL STEAMA SHOWCASE

TEACHER OVERVIEW

RATIONALE/INTRODUCTION

As our society faces many issues due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I&I International, a 501 (c)(3), collaborates with schools and districts to provide a platform for students to have a part in resolving the many issues their peers are facing like social and emotional well-being, digital illiteracy, lacking of technology, etc.

Our goal at I&I International is to create, provide, and implement a project-based and solutions-oriented venture for students to apply their own learning, logic, and voice. Each project will be designed to bring awareness to or assist in solving areas of concern in their communities. Our platform will allow for collaboration and innovation across the world.

DESCRIPTION

Covid-19 has had a profound effect globally in education. The pandemic – and the subsequent quarantine – has caused many students to become disconnected from their academic learning as schools moved to a digital platform.

OBJECTIVE

Students will collaborate to create and design a solution-based innovative proposal in order to resolve the issue of students becoming “unplugged” during the school closures resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic. Your project should:

  • align to STEAMA ideals;

  • implement a community-service aspect;

  • be replicable in other communities; and

  • have the potential for expansion in the future.
